Deux réalisateurs, deux parcours croisés : Elia Kazan, d’origine grecque, émigre aux Etats-Unis, tandis que Jules Dassin, né aux Etats-Unis, s’exile en Grèce. Alexandros Markeas, compositeur né à Athènes et vivant en France, s’est inspiré de ces destins pour imaginer Outsider, un opéra entre le Vieux et le Nouveau Monde. Pour l’occasion, les deux bateaux de La Péniche Opéra sont réquisitionnés : l’un recrée l’atmosphère d’une taverne grecque tandis que l’autre imagine le rêve américain. La mise en scène de Mireille Larroche est aussi inventive que rythmée. A la baguette Pierre Roullier coordonne les musiciens de son ensemble 2e2M ainsi qu’un casting comprenant Bernard Deletré, Maja Pavlovska, Marie Gautrot et Vincent Bouchot.
