Théâtre 71 – Scène nationale de Malakoff / de Bruno Boulzaguet et Aziz Chouaki / mes Bruno Boulzaguet
Le 18 mai 1956, dans la région de Palestro, en Kabylie, à proximité du village de Djerrah, des hommes de l’armée de libération nationale algérienne tendent une embuscade à des soldats du 9e régiment d’infanterie coloniale de l’armée française. La quasi-totalité de l’unité est anéantie. Quelques jours plus tard, les forces hexagonales ripostent en abattant seize combattants algériens et quarante-quatre civils. Le village de Djerrah est totalement détruit. Partant de ces faits historiques, l’auteur et metteur en scène Bruno Boulzaguet a sélectionné, en collaboration avec Aziz Chouaki, d’authentiques témoignages d’anciens combattants. Cela afin de « faire du théâtre avec un esprit de vérité ». Et de réinscrire « dans notre mémoire une guerre dont on a perdu le sens ».
