Le jonglage comme art en soi : longtemps une affirmation qui servit à extraire le jonglage de l’emprise du cirque traditionnel ; mais quel challenge que de l’ériger en langage artistique à proprement parler ! C’est le défi relevé par le collectif Petit Travers qui ne se laisse pas avoir par la poésie « tarte à la crème » de la beauté du genre, pour donner aux balles toute leur légitimité. D’un abord plutôt abstrait et épuré – des balles que l’on lance et que l’on rattrape –, le spectacle se transforme en facétie rebondissante. Du rebond, justement, il n’y en a pas tant que ça : la belle originalité des échanges de balles est dans l’horizontalité créée par le mouvement et les trajectoires.
Une chorégraphie de lignes
Très sérieux, souvent présentés de dos, les protagonistes, Julien Clément, Denis Fargeton et Nicolas Mathis, jouent de leur propre musicalité et de l’écoute de la pianiste, qui ponctue ou modère savamment leurs élans. C’est une partition de balles traversantes, une chorégraphie de lignes qui rythment l’espace et surprennent par qui voudra bien les briser en rattrapant la balle. Tout se complique avec l’arrivée d’un quatrième larron, malheureuse réplique de plastique venue jouer les trublions. La machine, si bien affûtée et coordonnée au millimètre près, dérape avec humour. On ne se lasse pas de ce défilé de balles blanches qui nous submergent, nous assaillent, portées par l’élan un brin subversif d’un collectif qui porte bien son nom.
