La grande originalité de ce festival parisien devenu année après année un espace de convivialité et de découvertes rare, c’est son cadre : pendant quasiment deux mois, c’est la crème de la crème du jazz qui se relaie tous les week-ends dans le splendide Parc Floral jouxtant le château de Vincennes. Allongé sur la pelouse ou assis sous un chapiteau, le public peut profiter à sa guise du soleil et de la musique pour un prix dérisoire (de 2,5 à 5 euros soit le tarif d’entrée du parc). Tous les samedis et dimanches, le festival a concocté des week-ends thématiques de choix : de « Jazz Women » où l’on retrouvera notamment la formidable saxophoniste Géraldine Laurent à « Shalom-Salam » qui accueillera (entre autres) l’émouvant joueur de oud Anouar Brahem, sans oublier « Coloratura » qui verra passer un détonant duo formé par le pianiste Andy Emler et le saxophoniste Thomas de Pourquery. Mais l’événement du festival, c’est bien évidemment la venue de Jan Garbarek. Il y avait un petit bout de temps que le saxophoniste norvégien n’était pas venu faire un tour du côté de chez nous. Jouir au grand air de ses mélodies enivrantes een clair-obscur s’annonce comme l’un des grands moments de l’été 2010.
