Treize « comédiens-musiciens-ouvriers » embarquent jusqu’à l’oracle de la Dive Bouteille, passant par les principales étapes du Quart Livre, en un remarquable voyage théâtral, qui réjouit autant les yeux que l’esprit. Camille de la Guillonnière et Jean Bellorini ont adapté le texte original, entre coupes adroites et respect de sa forme foisonnante. La modernisation de la langue, très habile, rend le parler renaissant audible aux oreilles modernes, sans jamais sombrer dans la facilité édulcorante. Les comédiens composent des tableaux originaux et poétiques sur un plateau recouvert d’eau, qui figure à la fois la pataugeoire du dilemme matrimonial de Panurge et la mer sur laquelle ces argonautes fantaisistes s’embarquent pour trouver l’or promis à leur alchimique verbiage. L’aisance insolente avec laquelle ces artistes s’emparent de la matière textuelle et des matériaux scéniques qui nourrissent ce spectacle est absolument sidérante. Difficile d’imaginer meilleure manière de découvrir ou de retrouver l’immense Alcofribas Nasier, « le plus excellent des rieurs » !
