Votre festival mêle musique et littérature. Qu’est-ce qui, selon vous, rapproche ces deux arts ?
Pascal Amoyel : Lier les mots aux notes permet de revenir à la source de l’inspiration d’un auteur. Les mots sont le déclencheur et la musique le parfum, ou bien l’inverse. Il se crée au final une vraie symbiose entre les univers. De nombreux artistes – Wagner, Scriabine, Messiaen… – ont d’ailleurs cherché à créer un art total, consistant à développer une forme nouvelle plutôt qu’à empiler les genres artistiques. Ces rapprochements permettent aussi de découvrir d’autre facettes des compositeurs : Beethoven qui lisait des textes bouddhistes, la symbolique des nombres chez Bach… Et enfin, à l’heure où les concerts sont souvent ritualisés, identiques les uns aux autres, il me paraît essentiel de créer des formes différentes, avec une écoute active du public.
Quels sont les temps forts de cette nouvelle édition ?
P.A. : Nous consacrerons une grande journée à Liszt (le 12 novembre), à l’occasion du bicentenaire de sa naissance. Liszt a été inspiré par un grand nombre d’auteurs : Shakespeare, Hugo, Lamartine… Nous évoquerons aussi son lien avec George Sand. Outre cet événement, le festival propose, entre autres, un rendez-vous avec la pianiste Anne Queffelec et son frère Yann, romancier (le 9 novembre), un concert humoristique intitulé « les douze pianos d’Hercule », Molière du meilleur spectacle musical en 2010 (11 novembre) ou encore un spectacle autour du Neveu de Rameau de Diderot avec le claveciniste Olivier Baumont (13 novembre).
Et vous-même, jouez-vous dans cette édition ?
P.A. : Je propose un spectacle sur la vie de celui qui fut mon maître : le pianiste György Cziffra (10 novembre). Avant de devenir le virtuose que l’on connaît, son destin fut mouvementé, jouant de la musique dans les cirques, engagé comme soldat pendant la guerre… Dans ce spectacle, je cherche à montrer l’incroyable générosité de cet homme. Après le festival, nous le présenterons au théâtre du Ranelagh à Paris en décembre.
Pourquoi avez-vous implanté ce festival au Perreux-sur-Marne ?
P.A. : J’habite dans cette ville et j’ai parlé, il y a quelques années, de ce projet au maire. Il a immédiatement été enthousiaste, d’autant que la ville dispose de belles infrastructures pour accueillir les concerts : le grand théâtre, le conservatoire flambant neuf, dont l’auditorium en bois possède une très bonne acoustique, le salon d’honneur de l’Hôtel de ville ou encore une belle église. Le festival est désormais entré dans les murs ! Il n’y a pas eu de concurrence, car la structure du Centre des bords de Marne est surtout investie dans les domaines du théâtre et de la danse.
