Si Richard Galliano restera comme le premier grand « décomplexé » de l’histoire de l’accordéon, qu’il a su, en inventant le « New Musette », inviter dans la cour des grands du jazz actuel, Pascal Contet pousse plus loin encore, ailleurs en tout cas, ce vénérable instrument inventé en 1829. Son propos : installer l’accordéon au carrefour de tous les langages contemporains, qu’il s’agisse de la danse (il a collaboré avec de nombreux chorégraphes importants, dont Preljocaj) ou des musiques du monde, de l’improvisation ou de la création musicale classique. Dans ce spectacle qu’il a conçu de bout en bout, il met en scène un prodigieux voyage musical sur le thème de l’échange des cultures, « entre souvenirs et devenir, oralité et écriture, tradition et modernité ». Avec Carol Robinson (clarinettes, Birbyne), Wu Wei (sheng, orgue à bouche traditionnel et millénaire chinois), Tom Mays (traitements électroniques et visuels). Au programme, des œuvres des compositeurs Pascal Contet, David Jisse, Pierre Jodlowsky, Tom Mays, Michael Praetorius, Erik Satie, Carol Robinson, Javier Torres-Maldonado, Christian Zanési et Wu Wei.
