Passion selon Jean est le deuxième volet de la tétralogie Quatre Actes profanes d’Antonio Tarantino, une allusion à la Loi 180 votée en 1978 en Italie qui transforme les asiles de fous, proches de l’enfermement médiéval, en véritables hôpitaux psychiatriques. Tuteur d’un malade interné pendant quinze ans à l’hôpital de Brescia, l’auteur a vécu de près cette révolution. C’est la source même de cette Passion selon Jean, l’inspiration pour deux monologues alternés du patient et de son soignant, Moi Lui en personne enclin à se prendre pour le Christ et Jean, l’infirmier psy, censé travailler à responsabiliser son partenaire et à lui restructurer l’identité. Le premier est sacrément atteint, il revendique sa pathologie à corps et à cri, un simple numéro qui attend son tour dans la salle d’attente du médecin romain toujours absent. Son gardien le rassure : « Toi aussi t’es dans l’ordinateur, Catégorie Moi, invalide civil, paranoïa, schizophrénie… Pour sûr que si que tu l’es Lui. » Mais qui est le martyr véritable de ce duo ? À l’origine, un témoin de Dieu qui refuse d’abjurer sa foi, tel Jean le vrai patient qui fait l’épreuve quotidienne d’une persécution morale et économique. Un calvaire avec supplice auquel il se soumet sans plainte, ni reproche, ni lamentation. Jean supporte dans la gloire les tourments sociaux que lui font les hommes.
Rappels culturels, clins d’œil picturaux, Sophie Loucachevsky choisit une installation tendance.
Au bas de la hiérarchie, cet agent de la santé n’attend que son salaire pour se payer verres de blanc et cigarettes : « Il est vrai que quand tu t’en vois l’un collègue qui te vient au boulot avec une Space Runner de vingt millions et pluss, et toi avec ta Passat, toujours que la même Passat, alors tu l’en comprendras les drames humains. » En quête inconsciente d’une présence affectueuse, tous deux sont martyrs d’une infortune existentielle et d’un sort politique digne de pitié, abandonnés à l’indifférence du reste du monde. Les malheureux ne « crèvent » pas de misère, ils s’en sortent et jouent le miracle de leur vie façon Ecce Homo, depuis la couronne d’épines sur le mont des oliviers jusqu’au costume de soldat romain. Rappels culturels, clins d’œil picturaux, Sophie Loucachevsky choisit une installation tendance, le blanc de l’univers hospitalier psychiatrique se mariant avec des petits bancs design, inconfortables pour le public, invité à se tourner pour suivre les pérégrinations du duo en goguette. De l’écran vidéo à la « scène » surélevée, une loge anonyme de secrétariat médical aux couloirs d’hôpital fort inhospitaliers, le spectateur savoure cette langue magnifique d’humour et d’invention à vouloir dire le mal-être profond du monde, entre lumière et désespérance. Avec Christophe Odent et Luc-Antoine Diquéro, des fous habités du désir de vivre.
