Catherine de Pazzi, fille d’une famille noble de Florence, décide qu’elle sera religieuse. À seize ans, elle entre chez les Carmélites de Notre-Dame-des-Anges de Florence. Pazzi que crée André Pignat – mise en scène et musique originale – représente le refus de la soumission passive au monde et à sa morale, une soumission qui justifierait le fatalisme de toute vie. Cette figure singulière consacre sa vie à une recherche physique de Dieu, quête impossible dans son authenticité. Les deux danseuses, Stéphanie Boll et Géraldine Lonfat et la comédienne Maude Pfister sont l’incarnation de la trinité de la sainte. Elles s’engagent dans l’exigence pleine de leur art. Cette quête spirituelle féminine chemine dans le désir d’aimer d’un amour inconditionnel. Le cloître de Jérusalem dont les grilles dessinent la ligne entre réalité et spiritualité est un carré de lumière. Le costume palestinien de la comédienne, celui de la première danseuse carmélite et celui de la seconde d’un blanc virginal évoquent des religions en symbiose. Intensité des mouvements et profondeur des sentiments, le spectacle vise à vibrer de l’intérieur de sa résonance spirituelle.
