Peine perdue que de croire pouvoir échapper à l’amour, à ses traits et à ses attraits quand on est jeune et séduisant, fougueux et audacieux. Berowne a beau prévenir ses trois amis de la vanité du pacte qu’ils signent et de l’inanité de leur désir de renoncer au désir pour se consacrer à l’étude et à l’austérité livresque, le roi, Dumaine et Longueville s’obstinent et dévalent tous ensemble la pente du ridicule sur laquelle les poussent avec malice la princesse de France et ses suivantes, jouant de leurs appâts pour mieux se jouer des quatre godelureaux. Elles sont belles et maîtrisent avec génie la stratégie des sentiments, donnant à ces jeunes coqs un peu trop fats mais infiniment sympathiques une leçon de vie dont sont incapables les livres. Vivez, aimez et attendez que vos teints soient fanés et vos mines parcheminées pour vous enfermer dans des bibliothèques sentencieuses : tel est le message joyeusement sensuel de cette pièce de Shakespeare dont Gilles Bouillon s’empare avec une énergie rieuse et un enthousiasme décapant.
Une sarabande flamboyante
Pour incarner ce quadrille amoureux, Bouillon choisit des comédiens qui ont tout de leurs personnages : beauté, jeunesse, fougue et élégance. Les pensionnaires du Jeune Théâtre en Région Centre forment désormais, de génération en génération, un vivier d’artistes que le metteur en scène a aguerri aux planches et qui virevoltent dans cette chorégraphie remarquablement mesurée et dirigée avec une aisance et une fluidité épatantes. La troupe constituée est homogène, les comédiens montrent une belle harmonie où le sens du groupe transcende l’expression particulière des talents, donnant naissance à un spectacle complet où tout est équilibré. Les costumes chatoyants et drôles, le décor inventif qui découvre, sous le violet du rideau d’une spiritualité rance le verdoyant d’un jardin des délices, le jeu, l’art subtil des placements et déplacements par lesquels la séduction se fait danse : tous les éléments théâtraux concourent à faire naître une charmante impression de légèreté, de gaité, de fraîcheur, d’aménité spirituelle. Gilles Bouillon réussit ici un spectacle formidablement abouti en forme d’ode à la jeunesse et d’hommage à l’amour, tendre et drôle, touchant et ragaillardissant !
