Les mises en scène de Bob Wilson divisent le petit monde de l’opéra. Il y a ceux qui savourent son esthétique minimaliste, sa direction d’acteurs au ralenti, et les autres qui s’y ennuient fermement. La reprise de sa production de Pelléas et Mélisande de Debussy, présentée à Bastille en coproduction avec le Festival de Salzbourg, bénéficie de toute façon d’atouts purement musicaux. A commencer par le casting vocal : on savoure par avance le Pelléas de Stéphane Degout et le Golaud de Vincent Le Texier, sans oublier Anne Sofie von Otter en Geneviève. A la baguette, on retrouve Philippe Jordan, dont la nomination au poste de directeur musical restera la meilleure chose du mandat du directeur de l’Opéra de Paris, Nicolas Joël.
