OPERA (VERSION DE CONCERT) / CHATEAU DE VERSAILLES
Hervé Niquet dirige ses fidèles du Concert spirituel dans l’opéra de Jean-Baptiste Lully et Philippe Quinault Persée, revisité par Antoine Dauvergne. La version initiale de l’œuvre, composée en 1682, vantait les exploits du héros mythologique, sauveur d’Andromède et vainqueur de la Gorgone Méduse pour glorifier Louis XIV, et fut adaptée au goût du jour par Antoine Dauvergne en 1770 pour célébrer le mariage du dauphin Louis XVI avec Marie-Antoinette, puis pour inaugurer l’Opéra royal de Versailles. L’illustre bâtiment constitue donc le lieu idéal où venir entendre, en version de concert, les chanteurs Mathias Vidal en Persée, Hélène Guilmette en Andromède, Katherine Watson en Mérope, Chantal Santon-Jeffery en Vénus, Cyrille Dubois en Mercure, Marie Kalinine en Méduse, sous la direction fougueuse d’un grand connaisseur du baroque français.
