Depuis la nomination de Marc-Olivier Dupin à la direction de la musique de Radio France, l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France renoue avec sa mission originelle : défendre la musique contemporaine. Pour autant, la phalange de la Maison ronde continue d’interpréter les grandes œuvres de la tradition symphonique. Le concert dirigé par Peter Eötvös illustre parfaitement la manière dont ces deux répertoires peuvent être étroitement liés. En création mondiale sera donnée une pièce de Brice Pauset, Schlag-Kantilene, qui n’est autre qu’un prélude au Concerto pour violon de Beethoven programmé immédiatement après (et dont Pauset a également composé la cadence). N’imaginez pas un simple pastiche : Brice Pauset, qui est aussi un formidable claveciniste, s’empare du langage du passé pour le déconstruire et créer ainsi une écriture originale, complexe mais toujours expressive, défendue ici par le violoniste David Grimal. En deuxième partie du concert, on pourra entendre la Lulu-Suite de Berg (avec la soprano Agneta Eichenholz), que Peter Eötvös devrait conduire avec son sens toujours contrôlé du lyrisme.
