Le guitariste Peter Nathanson, originaire de la scène blues de Boston, est
depuis longtemps bien repéré en France par les observateurs les plus affutés de
l’actualité du Blues. Et pour cause, il a eu la bonne idée de s’installer à
Paris, comme de nombreux grands bluesman avant lui tel Memphis Slim ou Luther
Allison. Raison de plus pour ne pas rester sourd au talent magnifique de cet
artiste hors pair, élu meilleur guitariste d’Europe en 2005 lors des French
Blues Trophees. Son nouvel album, Urban Blues (qui sort chez Mosaic
Distribution), le cinquième d’une discographie irréprochable, saisi dans
l’instant d’un concert enregistré « live » a la fièvre d’un blues énergique et
élégant, porté par un style de guitare au cinglant unique. Pour ne rien gâter,
Peter Nathanson a sélectionné un répertoire d’excellentes chansons peu entendues
(Savoy Brown, The Kinks, Bobby Blues Bland, Fleetwood Mac’) qu’il défend d’une
voix impeccable de présence et d’émotion. Un grand concert, et un album marquant
l’une des vraies réussites « Blues » du moment. Avec Doudou Weiss (batterie) et
Guy Fritsch (basse). Tout ce beau monde est à retrouver en concert dans un petit
lieu en « entrée libre »?
