PHILHARMONIE DE PARIS / CHŒUR D’HOMMES MIS EN SCENE
Une pépite cachée dans la forêt de propositions de la programmation de la Philharmonie de Paris. Le metteur en scène Peter Sellars présente pour la première fois à Paris sa vision singulière des Lagrime di San Pietro (Les Larmes de Saint Pierre) de Roland de Lassus. La création de ce concert mis en scène a eu lieu au Walt Disney Concert Hall de Los Angeles en 2016, et ne cesse depuis de parcourir le monde. Ce cycle de 21 madrigaux spirituels à sept voix, composé en 1594 sur des poèmes de Luigi Tansillo, est l’un des plus hauts témoignages de l’art musical de la Renaissance. « Une musique crépusculaire mais magnifique et visionnaire, d’une étrangeté spirituelle incroyable » selon Peter Sellars, qui lui offre dans ce spectacle une vision très contemporaine. Avec les 21 chanteurs du Los Angeles Master Chorale dirigés par Grant Gershon, sobrement et délicatement éclairés pas James F. Ingalls et habillés par Danielle Domingue Sumi. Quand une mise en scène inspirée et subtile aide à la découverte d’un chef-d’œuvre.
