La noyade du petit Eyolf met un coup de frein brutal à l’existence de ses deux parents. Plongés dans un bain de culpabilité, de haine et de questionnements existentiels, Alfred Allmers et son épouse tentent pourtant de résister à l’appel du vide et à l’ombre de la folie. « Ce que je veux raconter avec Ibsen, explique Jonathan Châtel, c’est le malaise de nos société obsédées par la perfection. (…) Que se passe-t-il lorsque nos exigences fanatiques d’harmonie sont balayées par une crise ? Comment reconstruire sa vie une fois débarrassés de nos fantasmes de toute puissance ? La mort d’Eyolf interroge cela. » Sous la direction du metteur en scène (qui signe une nouvelle traduction du texte), les comédiens Alexandra Flandrin, Vladislav Galard, Pauline Lorillard, Laurent Ménoret et Anne-Sophie Sterck investissent un univers théâtral qui veut rappeler les atmosphères évanescentes et oniriques que Jonathan Châtel a connu lorsqu’il vivait en Norvège.
