Le metteur en scène Christian Lucas, proche du monde du cirque par ses collaborations avec Nikolaus ou la compagnie Anomalie, avait déjà apporté son regard extérieur sur Après la pluie, la précédente création du Cirque Désaccordé. Une ambiance foraine et familiale nous réunissait alors sous un chapiteau, où une tribu déjantée déployait son imaginaire autour de tâches très quotidiennes pour faire naître une poésie aux doux parfums de l’enfance… et de gâteau au chocolat. Aujourd’hui, le collectif reste le même, rejoint par le jongleur, acrobate et contrebassiste Stéphane Podevin. Il s’agit toujours de raconter des histoires, de retrouver sur la piste l’équilibre entre un art populaire et pourtant sophistiqué, une perception familière des choses et pourtant étrange. La particularité du Cirque Désaccordé est de conserver un nombre impressionnant d’agrès et de disciplines, d’intégrer le théâtre, la musique, le chant et la danse dans un rituel moderne qui plonge d’emblée le spectateur dans un univers à part. Ici, les petites histoires se déroulent sous nos yeux par l’intermédiaire de tableaux vivants créés à vue grâce aux décors et aux accessoires manipulés par les artistes.
Un regard « ironique et parodique sur les mythes modernes »
Là où Après la pluie convoquait des personnages tout droit sortis des roulottes traditionnelles du cirque, Petites Mythologies Populaires préfère inventer des personnages certes issus du quotidien de notre monde contemporain, mais qui n’ont rien à faire sur une piste : un convoyeur de fonds, des extraterrestre, un employé de banque, un fantôme, un alpiniste, une styliste, un chercheur au CNRS… Ces neuf personnages, décortiqués par une voix off, jouent devant nous les drames et petits bonheurs de la vie quotidienne, avec une bonne dose de distanciation pour mieux révéler les fantasmes et les imaginaires qui les tiennent debout. Christian Lucas a pris le parti de raconter les histoires comme un scénario. Chaque tableau, constitutif du spectacle comme une séquence cinématographique, est centré sur un « héros » : on suit le cours de sa vie de façon subjective, on nous plonge dans sa propre perception du monde pour mieux vivre les scénarios et jeux de rôles qui s’enchaînent. Au final, ces nouveaux mythes modernes nous parlent de désirs, de rêves, toujours sur le fil du burlesque, de la farce ou du cauchemar.
