Les orchestres symphoniques regorgent de talents solistes exceptionnels. Premier violon solo de l’Orchestre de Paris dont il est membre depuis 1985, Philippe Aïche mène en parallèle, dans les espaces de liberté que lui laissent ses responsabilités orchestrales, une belle carrière solo. En 1997, il créait le Deuxième Concerto d’Eric Tanguy. En mai prochain, il sera l’invité de Yutaka Sado pour interpréter la Sérénade de Bernstein à Kobé au Japon. Aujourd’hui, il révèle les splendeurs post-romantiques du Concerto pour violon de Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957). Une partition rare, très virtuose et expressive, portant la marque de ce compositeur viennois exilé aux Etats-Unis en 1938 où il devint l’une des plumes les plus douées et demandées d’Hollywood. Korngold recycle habilement dans cette œuvre quelques-unes de ses musiques de film et donne naissance à un véritable chef-d’œuvre dont la création fut confiée en 1947 au grand Jascha Heifetz. On doit aussi à Korngold, entre autres réussites cinématographiques, la musique du film Robin des Bois de Michael Curtiz avec Errol Flyn dans le rôle-titre. Au même programme de ces deux concerts à Pleyel, Christoph Eschanbach dirige la Symphonie n°1 « Titan » de Mahler. Un couplage idéal.
