Issue de la collaboration entre la metteuse en scène Monika Gintersdorfer, et l’acteur danseur chorégraphe, Franck Edmond Yao (alias Gadoukou La star), tous deux à l’initiative de la création du Collectif La Fleur né du désir de rassembler deux générations de coupé-décalé, Trop d’inspiration dans le 93 est porté par l’intention de « rendre hommage à cette culture musicale, à ce style de danse qui fait vibrer les nuits d’Abidjan et de Paris ». Cet hommage s’élargit aux styles de danses nouveaux et sophistiqués directement liés aux dernières tendances musicales africaines : l’afrotrap, mêlant l’afrobeat et le trap (nouvelle esthétique du rap devenue dominante dans le hip-hop) et l’afropop, qui panache tous les courants de la musique pop américaine et africaine. « Les dédicaces, les textes et les punchlines de ces morceaux cherchent la voix d’une nouvelle génération qui veut parler tout autant de la vie dans les banlieues françaises que de leurs pays d’origine ».
