Comme toujours, lors des projets de La Revue Eclair, il y a d’abord une période d’immersion au sein d’un milieu (ici, le monde des sports de combat et, plus spécialement, de la lutte). Puis, ensuite, il y a l’écriture d’un spectacle de forme non conventionnelle qui met en jeu les différentes questions et perspectives ayant émergé au cours de la période d’exploration. Ainsi est née La Tribu, création qui présente une séance d’entraînement des Diables Rouges, lutteurs d’un club historique, fondé en 1908 à Bagnolet. « Nous voulons montrer l’intelligence, la subtilité, la précision du travail et l’épuisement des corps », déclarent les membres de La Revue Eclair. Sans interrompre le cours de l’entraînement, une femme assise sur un banc, au bord du tapis, soliloque. Et certains objets fétiches des lutteurs prennent la parole… C’est donc un tableau à entrées multiples qui nous est ici proposé. Un tableau qui évoque la « communauté archaïque, antédiluvienne, isolée, oubliée, et pourtant têtue et indestructible (…) que constitue la tribu des lutteurs ».
