Emanuel Gat a trente-six ans. Né en Israël, il commence sa carrière dans la compagnie Liat Dror & Nir Ben-Gal. Mais cette expérience ne sera que de courte durée, puisqu’il prend son indépendance de chorégraphe trois ans plus tard. Un acte fort pour ce jeune homme qui veille à s’inscrire dans l’air du temps, donne à sa danse un certain engagement sans pour autant en faire une danse politique. Ici, les trois pièces proposées dans un même programme montrent l’attachement du chorégraphe à la musique. Petit torn de dança est un duo construit sur des airs populaires français du XVIIIème siècle. My Favourite Thing, avec le saxophone de Coltrane, permet à Emanuel lui-même de défendre un solo sous forme de défi au musicien. Très porté par le jazz, le bassiste Squarepusher emportera ensuite un octuor de danseurs dans des vibrations électroniques. Un piège de toute évidence, puisque la pièce chorégraphique aura été conçue à l’origine sur une autre musique…
