L’Oulipo, fondé le 24 novembre 1960 par François Le Lionnais, Raymond Queneau et une dizaine de leurs amis écrivains, mathématiciens ou peintres est une des expériences littéraires et artistiques les plus originales jamais inventées. Des « alexandrins greffés » aux « textes à démarreurs », l’Ouvroir continue encore aujourd’hui sa production illimitée et insensée de textes, d’aphorismes, d’hétérogrammes et d’hypertropes qui empruntent leurs contraintes aux mathématiques et leurs règles à la fantaisie et donnent au monde l’épaisseur et l’intérêt que seul le langage peut faire naître. « Pas de personnage ni de psychologie, mais un univers loufoque, burlesque et beaucoup d’humour à partir de ces textes iconoclastes » dit Michel Abecassis qui a mis en scène ce « manège verbal et malicieux » avec un talent formel à la hauteur des exigences et du délire protéiformes des membres facétieux de ce club d’équilibristes virtuoses.
Un exercice de style mené de main de maître
Trois comédiens, Nicolas Dangoise, Pierre Ollier et Olivier Salon, se passent le relai de la parole à l’instar de musiciens de jazz pris entre improvisation libertaire et cadre créatif fécond. Les mots surgissent dans la spontanéité d’un texte savamment ouvragé qui joue des bégaiements, des redites, des fulgurances, des vertiges et des farces syllabiques et sémantiques. Une scénographie maline et simple permet aux trois compères de faire voltiger le sens et le récit, jusqu’aux marges de la déconstruction, jusqu’au risque de l’absurde, sans que jamais, pourtant, le spectateur ne se perde dans les arcanes rigolotes de cette alchimie langagière. Des accessoires désopilants, des lettres, des livres, des cartes et des objets inattendus viennent soutenir un jeu remarquablement maîtrisé qui fait naître une sorte de pyrotechnie élégante et joyeuse qui allie le bonheur de voir à celui d’entendre. Un oulipien est « un rat qui construit lui-même le labyrinthe dont il se propose de sortir » disent avec malice Marcel Bénabou et Jacques Roubaud. Michel Abecassis construit sur scène un dédale théâtral aussi subtil que celui de ses inspirateurs dont on sort avec le plaisir jubilatoire d’y avoir erré, guidé par un fil spectaculaire solide et sacrément efficace.
