Musicien-bricoleur-inventeur d’instrument, Pierre Bastien construit depuis douze ans et une poignée d’albums OVNI un univers musical inclassable, poétique et déroutant. « Enfant, j’ai bien fabriqué des machines avec des éléments basiques, mais avant tout, pour pervertir le métronome je mettais des poêles à paella de chaque côté pour obtenir, au lieu d’un tic-tac, un peu de musique. Il y a un côté subversif dans la fabrication de ces "machines à faire la nique à la musique avec un grand M" » explique-t-il. Sa curiosité, sa capacité d’invention et sa liberté l’ont amené à travailler avec de grands artistes tels que Dominique Bagouet, Pascal Comelade, DJ Low, Robert Wyatt ou Issey Miyake. Dans le projet « Téléconcerts » présenté à Nanterre, en prolongement d’un disque paru chez Signature/Radio-France/Harmonia Mundi, Pierre Bastien invite le grand vidéaste nantais Pierrick Sorin à partager avec lui et en direct l’aventure de la scène.
