Si les amateurs de musique contemporaine se désolent actuellement de la très faible production compositionnelle de Pierre Boulez, les autres se réjouissent de le retrouver régulièrement en tant que chef d’orchestre. En décembre, il dirige l’Orchestre de Paris dans un programme, typiquement « boulézien », confrontant deux géants du XXème siècle : Schoenberg et Bartok. Du premier sera donné la Nuit transfigurée, dans la version pour orchestre à cordes. Ecrite encore dans la tradition post-romantique, cette œuvre flamboyante pousse l’expression instrumentale jusque dans ses ultimes retranchements.
Gestique précise et minimale
Du compositeur hongrois, deux partitions emblématiques sont à l’affiche : le Concerto pour piano n°2, sous les doigts de Bertrand Chamayou, l’un des pianistes les moins « marketés » du moment – d’une rare intelligence musicale et d’une grande souplesse de jeu – et le Concerto pour orchestre, mettant à l’honneur la virtuosité des souffleurs de l’Orchestre de Paris. Mais surtout, le public viendra apprécier, une fois de plus, la gestique aussi précise que minimale de Pierre Boulez, capable de révéler chaque œuvre dans sa plus parfaite transparence. Une baguette qui n’est pour autant jamais rigide, ni autoritaire sur les musiciens… A noter par ailleurs que, dans un souci louable de démocratisation du classique, le programme sera également donné la veille en entrée libre sous la Pyramide du Louvre (mais sans le concerto pour piano de Bartok). Voir Pierre Boulez, grand amateur d’architecture contemporaine, diriger sous la verrière de Ieoh Ming Pei, cela vaut le détour !
