Comment est né ce projet « 3 + 3 = 4 », ce nouveau trio ?
Pierre Christophe : Je crois que ce nom est une idée de Jean-Michel Proust, le directeur du Duc, car en nous programmant il a remarqué qu’il y avait sur scène un tiers de mon trio (Raphaël Dever et moi-même) et un tiers du Time out trio (Géraldine Laurent et Laurent Bataille) ! Ayant toujours été nul en maths, contrairement au vieux cliché des musiciens matheux, j’ai accepté avec joie cette appellation ! Plus sérieusement, ce n’est pas un "coup", je connais Géraldine depuis des années grâce à notre ami commun Laurent Bataille et nous avons joué pas mal de fois ensemble dans la rue des Lombards, en sessions privées et même à Jazz à Juan en 2007 ! Les musiciens sur scène sont amis hors scène et je crois que ce facteur humain est aussi un plus pour la qualité musicale du groupe.
Géraldine aime passionnément la musique de Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Booker Little, je suis moi-même fan de ces musiciens, la rencontre était inévitable. Comme beaucoup d’excellents musiciens, elle possède une forte personnalité, une énergie communicative sur scène avec les musiciens et le public et une joie de jouer vraiment contagieuse.
Géraldine aime passionnément la musique de Charles Mingus, Eric Dolphy, Booker Little, je suis moi-même fan de ces musiciens, la rencontre était inévitable. Comme beaucoup d’excellents musiciens, elle possède une forte personnalité, une énergie communicative sur scène avec les musiciens et le public et une joie de jouer vraiment contagieuse.
