Pierre-Laurent Aimard fait figure d’atypique dans le monde des pianistes virtuoses. Ce passionné de musique contemporaine n’hésite pas à inventer de nouvelles formes de concert, comme cette soirée bouleversante qu’il a récemment conçue au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées autour du thème de la captivité, réunissant la lecture d’Etre sans destin de Kertesz et le Quatuor pour la fin du Temps de Messiaen. A la Cité de la musique, il donne l’intégrale des concertos de Beethoven, qu’il a déjà enregistrée avec Nikolaus Harnoncourt (Teldec). Cette fois-ci, c’est lui qui dirige depuis le piano, à l’instar d’un Daniel Barenboïm ou d’un Christian Zacharias. On rissole déjà de plaisir à l’idée de découvrir comment le pianiste lyonnais va revisiter ces chevaux de bataille du répertoire. D’autant que l’Orchestre de chambre d’Europe, toujours dynamique et inspiré, est le meilleur des compagnons de route.
