La Maison de la Musique de Nanterre ouvre grand ses portes à la scène française (ou souvent plus lointaine) des « nouvelles musiques traditionnelles », mouvement artistique absent des grands médias et pourtant en pleine effervescence. « Planètes Musiques 2009 foisonne de couleurs, de langues, d’instruments, d’inventions sonores, d’énergies et de plaisirs à créer à partir d’éléments patrimoniaux » souligne Pierre-Olivier Laulanne, directeur de la Fédération des associations de musiques et danses traditionnelles, en insistant sur la capacité des nouvelles musiques traditionnelles à vivre parfois « avec les cultures musicales les plus actuelles » et à porter des « approches inventives et expérimentales ». Du 6 au 8 février, une ribambelle de musiciens donneront vie à ce mouvement musical par essence pluriel, véritable fondement de la diversité culturelle : les duos Sylvain Roux-Mieko Miyazaki (koto) et Valentin Clastrier (Vielle à roue)-Stevan Tickmayer (claviers) et le projet François Robin expérience, le 6 ; la rencontre de Beñat Achiary (grand chanteur basque), Ramon Lopez et Philippe de Ezcurr puis le groupe vocal occitan Du Bartàs et Dzouga ! (violons des Monts d’Auvergne) et Yudal Combo (fest noz) le 7 ; et enfin les Niou Bardophones (au croisement de la musique bretonne et du free jazz) et Kabbalah et le son unique de son Urban Klezmer. Une tournée nationale au printemps prolongera ces trois copieux jours de concerts franciliens.
