C’est depuis la cité des vents, épicentre du blues nord-américain, que ce festival en forme de revue d’effectifs essaime depuis des lustres la bonne parole au-delà de l’Atlantique, en proposant notamment de découvrir d’autres voix de cette musique plus que centenaire. C’est le cas de Marquise Knox, né en 1991 à Saint Louis (Missouri), qui incarne la nouvelle génération tout en étant le digne héritier d’une longue lignée arrimée à cette musique, ayant bénéficié de la transmission de ses aïeux. Pour cette nouvelle venue en France, il sera accompagné par deux musiciens qui fouleront pour la première fois une scène française : le guitariste et chanteur Dexter Allen, ex-homme de mains dans l’orchestre de Bobby Rush qui a fait l’essentiel de sa carrière dans le Mississippi, et la chanteuse Lady A., native de Seattle, la ville à l’autre bout du pays où elle est devenue l’un des piliers du genre.
