Avec l’équipe de la compagnie Théâtre à cru, le metteur en scène Alexis Armengol propose son adaptation de Platonov mais … d’après la traduction de Françoise Morvan et André Markowicz. L’enjeu ne consiste pas à monter l’œuvre entière mais à projeter une lumière sur les sept personnages – Platonov, Sacha, Anna Pétrovna, Voïnitsev, Sofia, Grékova et Triletski – de cette pièce de jeunesse de Tchékhov. L’exploration du thème de l’incertitude s’accomplit à travers le spectacle d’un « théâtre – concert » qui fait usage du chant et de la musique, du piano et de la guitare. Une mise en scène « électrique », vive et violente, qu’encadre une vraie gaieté dans l’énergie de la fête et la chaleur de l’été. Les jeunes gens aspirent à « la vie nouvelle » et se tiennent à l’affût au bord du gouffre vacillant entre l’ancien et le nouveau monde, le temps qu’émergent à l’improviste le désir, l’amour, l’ennui, l’alcool, l’enlisement et la provocation. Mais plus que tout, c’est la volonté troublante de changement qui unit ces êtres en quête d’eux-mêmes, rêveurs et fascinés.
