« Je ne savais pas que je pouvais dire non. » Ainsi répond la victime à son agresseur, quand il s’étonne de sa plainte après l’avoir cru consentante. Jean-Benoît Patricot s’est inspiré d’un fait divers : le viol, en 2001, d’une jeune fille handicapée par une bande de pompiers. Fort de ses atouts personnels, de sa réputation de mâle irrésistible et de son aura de sauveur universel, le pompier – interprété par Antoine Cholet – s’est emparé de la fille que sa complexion psychologique rendait si facile à prendre… Catherine Schaub met en scène ce « texte nécessaire » pour un « théâtre coup de poing ». Dans une scénographie épurée, qui exacerbe les tensions entre « ces deux vies bloquées dans un présent indigeste », les comédiens donnent à entendre le « caractère âpre et concret » de ce drame où l’innommable naît de l’innommé.
