Une vieille bagnole s’échoue sur une lande de sable abandonnée, dans l’élan romantique d’une rencontre insolite, quelque part au bout d’un monde… Coincés dans l’étroite intimité de la guimbarde trafiquée, ils sont deux qui tentent d’amadouer la mécanique et ses caprices musicaux. Elle a l’œil bleu et lui le regard noir, les cheveux blonds et le teint pâle du lointain Nord autant qu’il a la boucle brune et l’accent ensoleillé… Cette lutine toute en muscles et ce costaud taillé en force embarquent pour une romance tempétueuse qui vogue de parades amoureuses en affectueuses brouilleries, de chamailles en pagaille en tendres retrouvailles. Autrement dit, depuis les premiers émois aux routines routinières, les bonheurs rieurs et anicroches qui rythment la vie de tout couple au quotidien… Enfin presque, car eux vivent les variations du cœur au gré de pirouettes improbables, d’envolées aériennes et autres manipulations acrobatiques stupéfiantes.
Trouvailles
En ménage, sur la piste comme sur les routes, Kati Pikkarainen et Victor Cathala ont le cirque, la générosité et l’humour en partage. Elle est voltigeuse venue de Finlande et lui porteur né dans le sud-ouest de la France. Ils pratiquent le main-à-main en virtuoses et se sont rencontrés au Centre national des arts du cirque de Châlons-en-Champagne, dans la 15e promotion sortie en 2003. Cet étonnant duo, contrasté par leurs gabarits et accordé par des caractères bien tranchés, dévoile l’équilibre incertain entre le travail et la vie personnelle. Après La Piste-là, pièce créée en 2008, leur deuxième création fourmille de petites trouvailles : jeux icariens, acrobaties sur une échelle ou un pot d’échappement, dressage de chiens endimanchés et contorsion se mêlent au main-à-main, d’une maîtrise toujours parfaite. Leur balade tient du road-movie drolatique, où les contradictions finissent toujours par se résoudre dans la passion du cirque, pour le meilleur et pour le pire !
