Environ deux ans après la mise en scène de Premier amour de Beckett, monologue aigre-doux à la fois drôle, sarcastique et cynique sur le sentiment amoureux et le sentiment du moi, avec Alexandre Fabre, Alain Paris signe cette fois la mise en scène et le texte de Premier Réveil. La pièce s’appuie sur un ouvrage du sociologue Jean-Claude Kaufmann, Le premier matin, sous-titré Comment naît une histoire d’amour, qui analyse le matin qui suit la première nuit d’amour. Matins chagrins, matins enchantés, matins anodins… Ce premier Matin serait selon l’auteur un moment essentiel et décisif, propice aux confidences ou non. Le sociologue a écrit divers essais sur le fonctionnement du couple et les conditions de la rencontre amoureuse de nos jours, et sur les différences de comportement entre les hommes et les femmes. Un sujet passionnant et sensible, qu’une analyse sociologique permet d’éclairer et de mettre en perspective. A travers le jeu d’un comédien et d’une comédienne, figures de couples d’âges et de conditions variés, la scène de théâtre vise à mettre en perspective avec acuité, finesse et sens comique un sujet universel. Le pari est lancé par la compagnie La Belle Idée.
