C’est à la Cité de la Musique que Présences se pose pour nous offrir quatre concerts de deux orchestres entretenant avec la musique de notre temps une relation privilégiée : l’Orchestre philharmonique de Radio France, évidemment bien connu des mélomanes parisiens, et le Tokyo Sinfonietta. Créée et dirigée en 1994 par Yasuaki Itakura, cette jeune formation s’est fixé comme mission d’aborder la musique composée de 1945 à nos jours, en favorisant les collaborations avec des compositeurs vivants. Invité sur les plus grandes scènes internationales de la musique contemporaine, le Tokyo Sinfonietta est aussi un ambassadeur efficace de la vie musicale japonaise. A Paris, il nous invite à la découverte de partitions de Toshi Ichiyanagi (1933) et de Toru Takemitsu (Rain Spell), figure dominante de la scène japonaise au XXè siècle, le 10 mai à 16h30 ; puis de Akira Nishimura (né en 1953), personnalité montante récompensée par le Grand Prix de composition du Concours Reine Elizabeth de Belgique et le 1er Prix du Concours Luigi Dallapiccola Composition à Milan, le 11 à 16h30 . Côté européen, trois partitions importantes de György Ligeti sont à l’affiche – Melodien, Six bagatelles, Atmosphères – ainsi que Dérive 1 de Pierre Boulez mais aussi des créations (mondiales ou françaises) de Jean-Louis Agobet et François-Bernard Mâche et Philippe Schoeller.
