THEATRE IMPERIAL DE COMPIEGNE ET THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ÉLYSEES
On a beaucoup écrit sur la success story de Pretty Yende, de sa découverte de l’opéra en Afrique du Sud grâce à une publicité télévisée, jusqu’à son premier prix au concours Operalia en 2011 et sa rencontre déterminante avec Mirella Freni à l’Académie de la Scala de Milan. Désormais très demandée sur les plus grandes scènes internationales, elle y triomphe autant grâce à son timbre pulpeux et son agilité spectaculaire qu’à son jeu naturel. Son programme au Théâtre impérial de Compiègne et au Théâtre des Champs-Élysées en novembre reflète l’étendue de ses qualités dans des répertoires et styles très différents.
Bel canto romantique et Mozart
L’opéra est bien sûr à l’honneur. Sous la direction de Lorenzo Passerini à la tête des Frivolités parisiennes, Pretty Yende interprète des airs phares du bel canto romantique comme la Valse de Juliette (Gounod), « Una voce poco fa » de Rossini ou des extraits de Lucia di Lamermoor et Don Pasquale de Donizetti. La soprano ajoute à ce programme redoutable le célèbre Exultate Jubilate de Mozart, une œuvre sacrée particulièrement opératique.
