C’est à travers Eschyle, adapté par Henry Bachau, que José Besprosvany triture les questions fondamentales qui traversent notre société contemporaine. Prométhée, pour avoir donné aux hommes, contre la volonté de Zeus, le feu, symbole d’autonomie, de pouvoir et d’autodestruction, est supplicié. Braver le pouvoir, s’accorder le libre-arbitre… il est aisé de faire résonner ces thèmes dans l’actualité. Sera-t-il aussi facile de les transposer dans les langages scéniques d’aujourd’hui ? José Besprosvany brouille les pistes en se réclamant tout autant de la chorégraphie que de la mise en scène. Il utilise la force des deux protagonistes, Zeus et Prométhée, et construit le récit sur les visites que reçoit ce dernier. C’est du côté du théâtre japonais que vont chercher les corps. Sans complexe, Besprosvany se réclame autant de la danse-contact que du hip hop, sans oublier ses récentes incursions vers la marionnette.
