On ne reviendra pas sur l’histoire de Prométhée, voleur de feu mythique, figure de la révolte humaine, du progrès, de la technique, condamné à se faire dévorer le foie par des vautours affamés pour avoir dérobé le combustible des Dieux. En revanche, on présentera l’auteur-comédien François Chaffin qui, depuis quelques années, construit avec le théâtre du menteur le parcours d’un théâtre singulier et engagé, en prise avec le réel et une esthétique audacieuse. Illustration : ce Prométhée poème électrique quise présente comme un texte-oratorio écrit pour une voix et des guitares électriques mises en boucle. François Chaffin, seul sur scène, y véhicule son écriture enfiévrée dans l’interprétation bouillonnante d’un Prométhée de retour au monde pour nous demander ce que nous avons fait de son feu. A travers un parler musical, forcément, fondé sur une écriture rythmée qui mélange réalisme et force épique au gré de l’accompagnement électrisant de Benjamin Coursier – tantôt d’un noir profond, tantôt rouge colérique – jusqu’à s’engouffrer dans nos oreilles, la lave salvatrice du mythique chaudronnier dévale sans concession les (mauvaises) pentes de notre société.
