Le concert s’annonce à la fois historique et émouvant. Après trente huit ans d’existence, le Quatuor Alban Berg donne ce mois-ci son dernier concert parisien. Dans le cadre de leur tournée d’adieux, ils font halte Avenue Montaigne pour un programme emblématique de leur trajectoire. En ouverture de concert, un quatuor de Haydn, l’Opus 77 n°1 dit « Lobkowitz », qui rappellera le style si délicieusement viennois de la formation, même si stylistiquement un peu daté. Ensuite, hommage au compositeur dont ils ont pris le nom, Berg, avec son Quatuor à cordes opus 3. On ne peut s’empêcher de saluer le formidable travail du quatuor en faveur de la musique contemporaine – ils ont ainsi créé des œuvres de Berio, Rihm… Enfin, place à un chef-d’œuvre incontournable du répertoire chambriste : le Quatuor n°15 en la mineur opus 132 de Beethoven. Une œuvre qui permettra sans aucun doute de mesurer combien les Berg sont capables de transcender l’abstraction du langage musical par un engagement de tous les instants, même du dernier.
