MUSIQUE DE CHAMBRE / THEATRE DES CHAMPS-ELYSEES
Ville culturelle et musicale par excellence, Prague a donné naissance en 1998 à ce magnifique quatuor formé par quatre jeunes instrumentistes issus de l’Academy of Performing Arts. Jiri Nemecek (violon), Stepan Jezek (violon), Jiri Pinkas (alto) et Stepan Dolezal (violoncelle) ont emprunté leur nom au grand violoniste tchèque Antonín Bennewitz (1833-1926), également chef d’orchestre et directeur du Conservatoire de Prague. Bardé de prix internationaux (ARD Munich, Osaka et peut-être surtout 1er Prix du Premio Paolo Borciani en 2008), révélé sur le plan discographique par des enregistrements marquants d’oeuvres de Bartók et Janácek, les « Bennewitz » sont les invités matinaux du Théâtre des Champs-Elysées dans des œuvres de Bach (extraits de L’Art de la Fugue), Haydn (Quatuor à cordes opus 33 n°2) et Beethoven (Quatuor à cordes n°16 en fa majeur opus 135).
