PIANO ET QUATUOR A CORDES / THEATRE DES BOUFFES DU NORD
La musique de Toshio Hosokawa retrouve la scène du théâtre des Bouffes du Nord sous les archets du quatuor français le plus impliqué dans la musique de notre temps. Après la représentation de son monodrame The Raven en février, le grand compositeur japonais s’en remet aux Diotima pour la création française de Distant Voices, une partition dont ils ont donné la première mondiale à Londres, au Wigmore Hall, en octobre dernier : « Une mélodie très simple se cache dans l’arrière plan. Cette mélodie (qui incarne les voix distantes) se joue à un tempo extrêmement lent, tandis que les notes qui la composent se teintent chacune d’une texture spécifique, par un processus de désassemblage et de dissociation des modes de jeu. Dans la vie de tous les jours, nos voix intérieures se cachent derrière nos habitudes. L’acte de composition est pour moi une manière de les redécouvrir, de les spatialiser et de les inscrire au sein du temps musical » explique le compositeur. Au même programme : le Quatuor à cordes en fa majeur de Ravel et le Quintette pour piano, deux violons, alto et violoncelle en fa mineur de Franck, avec Lise de la Salle au piano.
