Formé par les plus éminents maîtres de la musique de chambre, distingué par les grandes récompenses internationales (Premier Prix et cinq prix spéciaux en 2004 à Munich!), invité dans les séries les plus prestigieuses dont celle des « New Generation Artists » de la BBC (mais aussi au Musikverein de Vienne ou au Carnegie Hall), signé par le label Virgin Classics, le Quatuor Ebène arbore tous les signes du jeune quatuor idéal. Pourtant ces quatre musiciens bien dans leur époque font aussi figure d’électrons libres. Le Quatuor Ebène cultive en effet avec délectation son jardin secret qui peut surgir au détour de n’importe lequel de ces programmes strictement classiques, révélant « the other Ebene » jouant alors Miles Davis, Chick Corea ou un extrait de la musique du film « Pulp Fiction »…
Un rêve devenu réalité
« Dans tout ce que nous avons toujours voulu faire en matière de musique, il y avait au fond de nous, pendant ces heures passées à répéter Haydn, Beethoven ou Bartok, un rêve caché d’improviser et de créer une nouvelle façon de voir le quatuor à cordes. C’est dans cette "autre Ebène" que notre rêve commence à devenir réalité. Nous proposons maintenant tout un programme de concert avec différents morceaux et improvisations sur le thème du jazz, des musiques de films et de la pop… » confie le Quatuor.
