C’est un double bonheur que de retrouver réunis sur la scène où ils ont fait l’un et l’autre leurs premiers pas parisiens, le Quatuor Escher, incroyable carré à cordes américain, et Benjamin Grosvenor, révélation du piano anglais et nouvel emblème du label Decca. Son dernier opus en date intitulé « Dances » vient d’ailleurs de recevoir le BBC Music Magazine Instrumental Award 2015. Formé en 2005, le Quatuor Escher, qui a emprunté son nom au graveur et dessinateur hollandais Maurits Cornelis Escher (1898-1972), est basé à New York où il est actuellement au programme de la Chamber Music Society du Lincoln Center. Il s’est fait remarquer pour ses magnifiques enregistrements Zemlinsky chez Naxos. Ces impressionnants jeunes musiciens dialogueront dans deux quintettes avec piano majeurs : le la majeur, opus 81 de Dvorak et le fa mineur, opus 34 de Brahms. Une équipe et un programme de choc. Immanquable.
