Depuis déjà plus de 20 ans, le Quatuor Ysaye porte le flambeau, partout dans
le monde, de la musique de chambre « made in France ». « Il serait
prétentieux de se sentir dépositaire d’une tradition, d’une esthétique, en tout
cas de le revendiquer en tant que tel. Les influences de l’héritage de la
culture française sur notre jeu sont évidentes, mais moins, me semble-t-il, d’un
point de vue strictement musical, technique ou instrumental, que par
l’imprégnation permanente de cette culture depuis notre naissance dans tous les
domaines de notre vie » explique Luc-Marie Aguera, second violon d’un
ensemble qui a toujours veillé à ne pas se faire cataloguer comme « quatuor
français ». En novembre 2001, le Quatuor Ysaye enregistrait (chez Aeon)
l’intégrale de l’?uvre pour quatuor d’André Boucourechliev. Un disque marquant
qui trouve aujourd’hui sa traduction en concert avec au programme, trois ?uvres
essentielles, fascinantes et exigeantes de ce compositeur français d’adoption
qui se définissait comme un « apatride asilé bulgare » : Archipel II +
Quatuor III + Miroir 2.
