À la croisée des musicalités de trois langues, c’est là où aime se tenir l’acteur André Wilms, le jeteur de malédictions inouïes. À travers les textes poétiques de Heiner Müller, le comédien revêt le rôle d’un tribun moderne capable de défier les dieux. À la manière de l’antique Ajax, il n’hésite pas à « prendre les armes pour défendre ses frères humains ». L’écriture du dramaturge et poète allemand se faufile « entre la mémoire du théâtre de Sophocle et la récupération du discours des publicitaires d’aujourd’hui ». Soit sur la scène, un mélange aussi étrange que troublant de « fantômes de l’Histoire » comme de « spectres du présent » « pour revisiter le bilan des batailles engagées durant le vingtième siècle ». Sous le titre Qu’on me donne un ennemi, Mathieu Bauer s’empare d’Ajax, un poème écrit cinq ans après la chute du mur par Müller, et l’inscrit dans son répertoire de théâtre musical. À la guitare, Sylvain Cartigny, au sampler et à la basse, Lazare Boghossian et à la batterie et aux percussions, Mathieu Bauer : soit Sentimental Bourreau qui distille sa musique. André Wilms est couronné – excusez du peu – en rock star, passeur d’une poésie étrange autant que vivace.
