Nous avions été dans ces pages parmi les premiers en France – et les très rares aussi, malheureusement – à saluer l’apparition de ce duo accordéon-voix italien composé de Rachele Andrioli et Rocco Nigro. La chanteuse et l’instrumentiste puisent dans les vastes folklores et imaginaires méditerranéens, pour parcourir un monde infini pouvant mener – et pourquoi pas ? – jusqu’à Edith Piaf ! « Leur musique épurée joue sur les profondeurs de souffle, les envolées vibrantes et les ruptures sourdes. On y entend les Pouillles, les danses traditionnelles, mais aussi des émanations de fado ou de sons d’Europe de l’Est » écrivait alors Vanessa Fara. Le dépouillement et la puissance de ce chant solaire et terrestre seront bientôt à l’honneur de deux scènes françaises. De retour du Festival Vlaanderen de Gand et avant de s’envoler pour le Womex, Rachele Andrioli et Rocco Nigro ouvriront la saison « Musiques du monde » de La Marbrerie à Montreuil, la nouvelle salle dont tout le monde parle, et seront le lendemain à l’affiche du Festival de la Loire à Orléans.
