Festival Manifeste/ Orchestre / Danse / Création
Commande conjointe de l’Orchestre de Paris et de l’Ircam-Centre Pompidou dans le cadre du Festival Manifeste, Cortèges de Sasha J. Blondeau réunit danse et musique dans une exploration des normes formelles du concert. Sur un texte de Hélène Giannecchini, la pièce s’articule autour de la confrontation entre soliste chanteur-danseur et multitude d’un orchestre en partie spatialisé au milieu du public. En lien avec le travail chorégraphique de François Chaignaud, le compositeur français invite ainsi à une expérience sonore et plastique disruptive comme pouvaient l’être en leur temps les partitions de Varèse. Si Density 21.5 explose les limites instrumentales de la flûte, Amériques fait entrer les bruits de la ville au cœur de l’orchestre avec un riche effectif de percussions et une sirène de pompiers, en un geste fondateur de la modernité aussi radical que, une décennie auparavant, le Sacre du Printemps de Stravinski.
