PIANO ET ORCHESTRE / PHILHARMONIE
Calé contre le dossier de sa chaise, les bras tendus vers le clavier, Radu Lupu joue les concertos de Beethoven, comme il joue les sonates de Schubert ou les préludes de Debussy, au superlatif du piano, forçant ainsi notre écoute, celle du chef d’orchestre et des musiciens de l’orchestre qui dialoguent alors avec lui, bien plus qu’ils ne l’accompagnent. Le pianiste nous fait alors découvrir un monde qui ne doit plus rien à l’héroïsme batailleur que le post romantisme nous a légué. Beethoven n’est plus ce créateur qui prend le destin à la gorge, mais un compositeur dont la musique « issue du cœur retourne au coeur » selon ses propres mots. Quel concerto mieux que le Quatrième peut nous faire appréhender le radicalisme poétique et sonore du pianiste roumain ?
