MUSIQUE VOCALE / DIJON ET PHILHARMONIE
Pygmalion s’est fait, ces dernières années, une juste place sur les scènes lyriques, (Orphée et Eurydice, Hippolyte et Aricie, Fidelio à l’Opéra-Comique, Idoménée à Aix…). Mais Raphaël Pichon reste aussi fidèle à la mission à laquelle il voue depuis dix-sept ans les musiciens et chanteurs de son ensemble : faire sonner les œuvres – du baroque au xixe siècle – avec leur authenticité historique autant qu’avec leur pertinence pour le public d’aujourd’hui. L’une des pistes est la théâtralité, inhérente à la musique et que le chef insuffle par-dessus tout à ses interprétations. L’oratorio de Mendelssohn est tout approprié : c’est une page de pur théâtre musical, qui regarde vers Bach, Haendel et Beethoven sans oublier d’être de son temps, celui de Schumann, Brahms et Berlioz. Avec Stéphane Degout dans le rôle du prophète, et Siobhan Stagg ou Julie Roset, la distribution est idéale.
