Le jazz dans l’une de ses expressions les plus ouvertes et radieuses qui soient. New yorkais d’adoption, natif du Nouveau-Mexique, fils d’un danseur argentin et d’une mère afro-américaine, Raul Midón a grandi dans un riche environnement musical, au fil d’une enfance douloureusement marquée par la perte de la vue peu après sa naissance. Son approche de la musique est universelle et solaire, incarnée dans des chansons de sa plume fortement teintées de soul, de jazz et de folk. Si elle a lui a déjà fait croiser la route de géants de la musique américaine tels que Stevie Wonder, Al Jarreau, Herbie Hancock ou Bill Withers, la carrière de Raul Midón, âgé de 50 ans, s’écrit aujourd’hui sous son propre nom. Son dernier album en date, « Don’t Hesitate », conçu dans la solitude de son home-studio, met comme jamais à l’honneur ses talents de multi-instrumentiste, d’auteur-compositeur et de chanteur. La suite se passe sur scène. On n’hésite pas…
