L’ambiance est festive, l’esprit résolument bon enfant. La porte ouvre sur une petite rue de Montreuil, à deux pas du métro. On est au Théâtre de la Girandole où la compagnie du même nom (créée en 1980 par Luciano Travaglino et Félicie Fabre) présente chaque lundi, depuis quelques mois, un objet théâtral non identifié, entre cabaret politique et café-concert participatif. Une dizaine de tables, trois ou quatre rangées de gradins : on se serre, on se pousse, on rajoute quelques chaises les grands soirs et on y va. Après une première partie événementielle (le 16 février dernier, la chanteuse Anna Kupfer « pouss[ait] les frontières en interprétant les poètes dans leurs langues d’origine »), Luciano Travaglino, Félicie Fabre et Patrick Dray s’élancent donc dans ce qui s’affirme immédiatement comme un divertissement militant aux couleurs un brin désuètes. Le principe en est simple : entre chansons vénitiennes, textes de Dario Fo, apostrophes (plus ou moins pertinentes) à destination du public, des spectateurs tirent au hasard dans un sac des titres de chroniques associées à des dates, chroniques écrites par Jean-Pierre Léonardini pour la rubrique Regard en coulisse du quotidien communiste L’Humanité.
Accordéon, guitare et polenta
Faisant preuve d’un style alerte, d’une ironie faussement légère, d’un savoureux sens de la formule, ces textes se révèlent un véritable plaisir pour l’oreille et pour l’esprit. 22 mars 2002, Les Poissons anglais sont efféminés ; 30 juillet 2004, Au vide grenier de l’information ; 12 juin 2003, Bossi est plus fort que Sarkozy… Dardant son regard facétieux sur les dérives, les incongruités, les petitesses du monde, Jean-Pierre Léonardini s’attache à contrecarrer les pièges de la pensée toute faite pour s’amuser à jouer la mouche du coche. Lues à deux voix par Félicie Fabre et Patrick Dray, ces chroniques piquantes et spirituelles côtoient, il faut bien l’avouer, certains moments d’improvisations moins convaincants. Mais, l’essentiel de ce Regard en coulisse demeure : un souffle de simplicité et de camaraderie qui incite à une bienveillante bonne humeur. Ce souffle se prolonge après la fin de la représentation, le public étant invité à apprécier la spécialité italienne que Luciano Travaglino prépare sous ses yeux tout au long du spectacle. « Morale della favola », lance ce dernier à la cantonade, une fois le feu éteint, « tutti a tavola ! ». Ce soir-là, c’était polenta.
