Disque après disque, l’esthète Renaud Garcia-Fons construit un singulier univers, à partir du bassin méditerranéen. C’est encore le cas avec « La Linea Del Sur », publié sur le label de qualité Enja. « C’est une ligne d’un Sud imaginaire. Il s’agit plus d’un fil conducteur de mes émotions collectées au contact des musiques du Sud. Tout cela forme une espèce de parcours, d’histoire, qui va du monde méditerranéen à l’univers des musiques latines, jusqu’à l’Argentine. » Le contrebassiste convoque la formidable chanteuse Esperanza Fernandez, dont le canto flamenco résonne sur des textes inspirés par le poète soufi Rumi, tout comme il invoque la douce mélancolie du tango, incarné sous les doigts de l’accordéoniste virtuose David Venitucci. Pensé comme un recueil de nouvelles et composé à partir des photos de Javier Arcenillas, ce disque prend la forme d’un album d’images fortes et sensibles. Celles que vous pourrez vous figurer en fermant les yeux mais en ouvrant bien grand les oreilles. A méditer.
